Photography is all about capturing the best light, and real estate photography is no different. Ideally, all photos should be taken in the early morning or late afternoon to evening, when the light brings out the beauty of your property. Some properties look best in the early morning light, while others look more impressive in the evening, depending on their orientation and surrounding features like large trees.

While I can certainly work with midday light, I advise against scheduling photoshoots at this time if possible. Midday light can result in sharp shadows and harsh lighting, which may not showcase your property in its best light.

Securing a new listing is always exciting, and it's natural to want to get it on the market ASAP. But before we start the camera rolling, let's take a moment to consider: Is the home ready to be shown in its best light? While the eagerness to list is understandable, first impressions are key in real estate. And, sometimes, taking a few extra days to declutter and clean can make a world of difference in how potential buyers perceive the property. Remember, the goal is to make potential buyers see themselves in the space. Clutter can often distract from the property's actual potential and unique features.

So, before scheduling a photoshoot, consider investing some time in ensuring the home is as clean, bright, and welcoming as it can be. This step will not only enhance the overall aesthetic appeal of your photos and videos, but it can also lead to faster, more lucrative sales. Taking photos is just the first part of the process. After the shoot, I spend considerable time editing the photos to make sure they look perfect. Please keep in mind that editing takes about four times longer than the actual photoshoot.

For the best results, it's important to allow enough time between the photoshoot and when you need the photos. This will enable me to put the necessary time and care into editing your photos, to ensure they are of the highest quality.
